Onboard safety is our top priority and has been enforced as a company policy. The Shipboard Management System (SMS) communicates, supervises and guides the crew on safe working practices. The implementation of ISM (safety), ISPS (security), MLC (well-being), and other latest international standards on our ships is continuously monitored by a dedicated team of QHSE professionals through audits and drills
Safety League is ABL Group's workplace safety transformation program that incorporates gamification in the form of a league, specifically to encourage the implementation of the Safety Accountability Program (SAP) across all ABL Group work areas.
SAP covers various safety activities such as hazard reporting, inspections, observations, coaching, P5M, safety talks, and drills. Each SAP implementation will be assessed, and scores will be given to each fleet and crew. The evaluation results are announced monthly (per season), with winners determined based on the best achievements.
The objective of the Safety League is to foster enthusiasm, build a positive competitive spirit, and enhance awareness of workplace safety implementation. As a result, this program is expected to create a safe work environment free from incidents or accidents (zero incident/accident).
This is an ABL Group program that aims to visit, see, and hear firsthand the actual conditions in the field. The program is designed to understand various issues that arise, whether related to safety, operational, technical, or other aspects.
Through Officer Connect and MWT, communication is established directly between frontliners, implementers, crews, and ABL Group ground officers and management. The program features two-way discussion sessions so that solutions can be discussed together, and commitments to implement improvements can be agreed upon collaboratively.
The program involves all stakeholders, including partners, and is conducted in a hybrid format, covering the entire operational area of the ABL Group, both domestically and internationally (e.g., Africa), not limited to a single location such as Berau alone.
AM Care is a Safety Accountability Program reporting tool at ABL Group that also functions as a platform for disseminating various work documents, safety campaigns, and announcing the winners of the Safety League.
Captain’s Eye is a remote surveillance infrastructure equipped with AI technology to identify unsafe actions on ships. The system sends real-time information to the safety team on shore for verification and follow-up.
This innovation is an improvement that combines safety aspects with technology to create a safe and risk-free working environment.
