On February 7, 2025, ABL officially inaugurated the Embung in Kampung Teluk Alulu, Maratua, Berau. The event was attended by our CHRO, Mr. Hermawan, SE, MM, CHRP, as the management representative, alongside Mr. Ariyanto, SE, the sub-district head of Maratua and Mr. Noraliansah, SH, the head of Kampung Teluk Alulu.
This embung is set to have a significant impact, benefiting 788 individuals or 232 households in Kampung Teluk Alulu. The project aims to address the long-standing challenge of clean water access for the community. Until now, villagers have relied on rainwater collection and expensive purchased water, as local groundwater is brackish and the rocky terrain complicates water access.
To address this issue, ABL has constructed an embung spanning 25 m x 25 m, with a clean water storage capacity of 2,812 m³. This facility is expected to provide a sustainable water source, improving the availability of clean, usable water and enhancing the quality of life for the community.
